My name is Aubrey Joyner. I was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. I am a senior at Florida State University. I am earning my degree in Communications and a double minor in Education and Child Development. I have a passion advocating for children. I would either like to teach one day or build my own non profit organization; benefitting children who are entering foster care.
I have experimented with education technology during my internship in a first grade classroom. One of my favorite forms of technology is the smart board. I like this form of technology because it is convenient, easy to use, and encourages creativity. While the smart board was present while I was in grade school; the students and their understanding of how to use this technology has increased dramatically. I was absolutely amazed at how well the first graders performed on the smart board!
While taking this course, I hope to broaden my knowledge for the use of technology in a classroom. It is important to keep up with societies understanding of technology in order to apply them successfully to our classrooms. Technology is our future, I strongly believe new technology should begin in a classroom. Our future leaders begin in a classroom! That's why this course is essential for potential educators.

ReplyDeleteHey Aubrey, I am also a Communications Major! I love that you want to work for a non-profit, do you have any ideas? I think that smart boards are super easy and fun to use, and love them as a teacher and student. I also believe that technology is our future so I want to get to know it now, rather than later when it's too late.
